about the artist
rosemary santoro (she, her) is a multi-media maker working and living in her home state of maine. after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in human ecology from college of the atlantic in ‘21 studying field ecology and studio printmaking she moved from mount desert island back to southern maine where she grew up.
rosemary works in a variety of media – mainly analog pen & ink illustration, digital illustration, water media, photography, song & printmaking of many forms (relief on linoleum, etching, the occasional screen).
her work explores the nightform –the magic of mystery and connection in the beautiful night of your dreams, as well as the sacred healing object – exploring & honoring the sweetness of gifting and sharing beautiful things in community.
rosemary butterfly is an ongoing business project exploring what it means to sustain creation & distribution of affordable, collectible artworks in the name of joy and healing. rosemary is always seeking sustainable, circular paths to creating work in an otherwise linear system through collaboration and reuse.
